A native of Kansas, Sherriene Jones-Sontag is the Kansas Chamber’s Vice-President of Communications. She guides the strategy of the Chamber’s internal and external communications, marketing, events and media outreach.
Sherriene brings a broad-based experience in the communications and public relations fields, particularly related to public policy. Before joining the Chamber, she served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Kansas Lottery where she oversaw marketing, sales, public affairs and research as well as led the lottery’s legislative efforts at the Kansas Statehouse.
She also served in numerous communications and press secretary roles, including as Communications Director for former Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and former Kansas Speaker of the House Melvin Neufeld.
Sherriene previously worked more than ten years as a broadcast journalist in Ohio, Alabama, and Kansas. She received her undergraduate journalism degree and a minor in International Affairs from Ohio University.
Sherriene and her family enjoy traveling to new places, trying new foods, and learning to bake bread and make pasta.
