Real Tax Relief for Working Class Kansans

 
HB 2036 is a bi-partisan solution and common-sense compromise that provides tax relief to all Kansas taxpayers. HB 2036 will provide Kansas relief from the crippling inflation caused by the Biden Administration and help us create additional economic growth and prosperity.
 
The package includes:

     

  • A reduction in the statewide property tax mill levy and increases the standard valuation exemption for every homeowner.
  • Restructures our state income taxes to a dual rate structure and includes a large personal exemption to provide targeted benefit to lower and middle-class earners.
  • Accelerates the elimination of state sales tax on food.
  • Eliminates the income tax on social security benefits.
