Kansas Chamber Honors Chamber Champion Business Leaders & Recognizes Blish Mize with Ad Astra Award at Annual Dinner

TOPEKA, KAN. March 25, 2026 —The Kansas Chamber gathered business and community leaders from across the state Tuesday evening for its 2026 Annual Dinner, an event celebrating leadership, service, and the strength of Kansas’ business community.

The evening featured keynote remarks from Rob Riggle, actor, comedian, retired U.S. Marine, and Kansas native, who shared reflections on leadership, service, and the importance of maintaining perspective through humor. Riggle’s remarks resonated with attendees and underscored the value of community, resilience, and Kansas roots.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Ad Astra Award, the Kansas Chamber’s highest honor, to Blish-Mize. The Ad Astra Award recognizes exceptional commitment to the Kansas Chamber and to advancing a strong business climate in Kansas.

“Blish Mize exemplifies the spirit of Ad Astra through its long-standing leadership, advocacy, and investment in Kansas’ future,” said Eric Stafford, President and CEO of the Kansas Chamber. “The company’s commitment to the Chamber and to pro-growth policy has helped strengthen our work on behalf of Kansas businesses.”

The Chamber also recognized three individuals as Kansas Chamber Champions, honoring their leadership, service, and lasting impact on the organization and the broader Kansas business community. Each honoree has served on the Kansas Chamber Board of Directors and has played a key role in guiding the Chamber’s mission.

The 2026 Kansas Chamber Champions are:

John Guyot, Security Benefit

Guyot was recognized for his steady leadership, thoughtful board service, and longstanding commitment to the Kansas Chamber. His support has helped strengthen the organization and advance its mission on behalf of Kansas businesses.

 

 

Paula Landoll-Smith, Landoll Company

Landoll-Smith was honored for her leadership on the Board and her strong advocacy for rural Kansas. She has been an important voice ensuring rural businesses are engaged and represented in conversations about Kansas’ economic future.

 

 

Josh Shorter, Integrated Components

Shorter was recognized for his leadership within the manufacturing community and his service on the Board. As Chair of the Kansas Manufacturing Council, he has been a strong champion for Kansas manufacturing and the businesses and workers that power the state’s economy.
