Chamber Legislative Agenda

Each year, the Kansas Chamber develops a Legislative Agenda that makes it clear to legislators what our membership expects from their state legislature – policies which help foster economic growth – and in very specific terms.

We emphasize our core principles of free enterprise and that removing obstacles to job creation and economic growth is paramount. This year’s Legislative Agenda reflects the need to reduce the cost of doing business in Kansas so we can keep jobs and grow our economy faster.

Our members provide input on policy and legislative strategy through work group conference calls on issues vital to Kansas business growth. Feedback from meetings with Cornerstone members, local chamber leaders and the results of our Business Leaders Poll and Annual Competitiveness Index are used to frame the state’s key business issues.

The core focus of the Kansas Chamber’s work at the statehouse during the legislative session will be on protecting the business community from increased costs through higher taxes, user fees and revoked tax exemptions while also protecting pro-business gains made in recent years. To support our legislative mission, the Chamber also is launching a new strategic action plan, Vision 2025.

These are challenging times in Kansas for our government and for businesses. But, together, we are United For Business. We stand together to revitalize businesses, stabilize our economy and return prosperity to our state.
