TOPEKA, KAN. — The Kansas Chamber has released the 2026 Competitiveness Bluebook, a comprehensive, data driven report analyzing how Kansas compares to other states across key measures impacting economic growth and business success.

The Bluebook serves as a resource for policymakers, business leaders, and stakeholders, providing insights into the state’s economic performance and identifying areas where Kansas can improve its competitiveness to better attract investment, support job creation, and grow opportunity for all Kansans.

The report evaluates Kansas across a wide range of indicators tied to the state’s business climate, workforce, infrastructure, and innovation economy. By comparing Kansas to national benchmarks, the Bluebook highlights both strengths and areas where continued focus and reform are needed to remain competitive.

“The Competitiveness Bluebook is an important tool that helps guide conversations about Kansas’ economic future,” said Eric Stafford, President and CEO of the Kansas Chamber. “While our state has many advantages, the data makes it clear there is more work to do to ensure Kansas is positioned to compete with other states for jobs, talent, and investment.”

The findings reinforce the importance of continued efforts to strengthen the state’s business environment, grow the talent pipeline, improve infrastructure, and support innovation and entrepreneurship, all priorities outlined in the Chamber’s long term Vision 2025 framework.

The Kansas Chamber produces the Bluebook as part of its mission to provide research and policy recommendations that support free enterprise and enhance the Kansas economy.
